Strengthening Resilience in Tsunami Affected Communities (S.R.T.A.C.) project funded by IDRC and CIDA is implemented in 12 villages in Galle, Matara, Hambantota, and Ampara districts of Sri Lanka by Sarvodaya and Practical Action. The overall goal of the project is to reduce the vulnerability of the poor communities in the coastal communities to natural disasters. This will be accomplished through strengthening local livelihoods and protective forest belts with access to strategic and transformative information services by local people and organizations. Women are key beneficiaries of the project. S.R.T.A.C. is a three year Development and Research project.
